Yellowstone was named such because of these scenes. Along both sides of the Yellowstone River Grand Canyon are bright yellow cliffs. The jade green, crystal clear water pierces its way through the canyon. The water comes from Yellowstone lake, which is a vast reservoir of the Snake River. Along the canyon, the Upper and Lower falls throw 45000 tons of water every second down into the canyon bottom. The water winds all the way through the >25 miles long canyon, creating the above scenes. The colorful beauty, the breath-taking grandiosity, the wonder of nature, Yellowstone!
