What is 调侃? 调侃 is to make fun of 网友. But just to make fun is not enough, you need to make onlookers laugh and the subject of your 调侃 hurt but also amused at the same time. The ability of 调侃 ultimately depends on your sense of humor and your unique insight into your subject.  调侃 is an important part of any healthy forum. How boring a forum must be if all people do is to sing "I love you, you love me and we are one happy family"?

Honestly, there is no 调侃 master on Smallstation. Back in my CND days, some 调侃 can make me laugh for days. Here is one example.

网友 A went to China to start a company and he was bragging his family value: he flies back to U.S. every three months to unite with wife.

alsoRun: would not a 40-year man be half dead after 13-hour of flight?

山东: He will be completely dead after seeing his 40-year old wife.

So what is the key to improving one's 调侃 art?

1. Know the weakness of your subject. Note these can only be mild weaknesses, not major ones. Good examples include an adult's obsession with own naked butt, continuing being  a 雷锋 and continuing complaining about it, or addiction to red songs and red poems, or being an I-sheep to a certain fruit company.

2. Treat 调侃 as a situation comedy like Seinfeld and Friends. You need to make connection or interpretation in an very unexpected way. Let the forum dynamics create such opportunities for you. A good 调侃 must be very clever and must uniquely fit a particular situation. One example is a scene in Seinfeld. Elaine just had a new boy friend, who was found to subscribe to and read workers daily. Her friends ask Elaine about this. Elaine's reply; maybe his new boy friend is simply well read. The  调侃 line was; maybe he is very red.

3. Use vivid language and bring your  调侃 alive. I am pretty weak on this. A former net-friend here whose son plays soccer could really make you see and feel what he was describing.

4. Treat this non-consequential net relationship as if it is real, serious and big deal. I always find it amusing when people do this.

How not to be the subject of other's  调侃

1. Do not  调侃 others.

2. Hide your interests, background and politics deep. Reveal as little about yourself as possible.

3. Respond angrily to other's  friendly 调侃.

1. Do not be mean and do not be hostile.

2. Do not present yourself as superior because you earn more or even a lot more money than others.
