I assume the engine does not start?  Suggestion: Check air filter, and replace or clean if necessary.  Sometimes, priming makes the filter too soaked in gas and thus becoming inefficient for air to pass through.  Once the engine starts, its power is enough to open up the air passage.  Also make sure your gas is not too old.  Then check or replace spark plug.
