中文学校里闹革命

My younger son has been taking classes in a local Chinese school for two years. The new academic year started 2 and half weeks ago with 40% raise in tuition set by the school. The first day of the new school year, about 100 upset parents gathered to discuss the tuition hike and School's principal later also came (although she initially refused to join). Soon the meeting turned into a dennoucation session of the principal and the school. Some parents were pretty aggressive and hostile. The second week, the school did some power point presentation, trying very hard to justify the tuition increase.  The parents demanded to have two parents representitives on the school board but the idea was flatly rejected. A substantial number of parents then withdrew their kids from the school and a few influential parents formed a group to start a new Chinese school.

I just heard that the new Chinese school has been registered as a non-profit organization and started initial operation. Fast, real fast!

Now the 闹革命 portrayed in many "model operas" is suddenly real and concrete.

I have seen this same thing happened in my local area already even though I was not sure about the details behind the scenes.

让家长参与很合理呀。当然，要是私校，不让参与，提学费等也都合理。我们以前的中文学校校长和干事是选的，规定不许连任。也非牟利。
