现在做野蜂的思想工作。这个工作先让 Dame Kiri Te Kanawa 来做。
Kiri Te 是一个很幸运的歌唱家。在她歌唱事业的巅峰时期,赶上录音技术的突飞猛进,她的歌声从而真正得以流芳百世。以后的人不会疑问她凭什么被英国封爵。相反地,象卡拉丝这样的歌唱家,生不逢时。卡拉丝生前身后极尽殊荣,去世时全国下半旗。可是象我这样的人,听她的录音,却不能不被录音的劣质勾起无边的疑问。干脆没有录音,还能给人想像的余地。留下这样的录音,让人的心理如何平衡?
Kanawa 唱普契尼的 “O Mio Babbino Caro" ,因为被电影《A Room with aView》取为主题歌,这里的人应该都很熟悉。现在用它来做一个例子,说明聆听歌剧唱段时,故事的详细情节和准确的歌词往往不很重要。这首歌中,一个弗罗伦萨附近的姑娘恳求她的父亲允许她和心爱的青年成亲。这放在《A Room with a View》里当然很合适。可是另一方面,对于无数不知道这部歌剧内容,又听不懂意大利文的电影观众来说。歌声似乎是在讴歌秀美的意大利塔斯坎尼风光。要说这首歌与电影相得益彰,大概是不过份的。从此,依文学作品为蓝本的电影如兰花似的朵朵开放。从此,“O Mio Babbino Caro”成为 kanawa 的签名。有一次,kanawa 的独唱音乐会上,接近尾声时,乐队扬起这只歌的前奏,于是满场的掌声雷动,直到Kanawa微笑着准备起唱时才停寂下来。哦,塔斯坎尼,我们梦寐向往的地方。
