思雨说的是悉尼的MacQuarie Univercity吗?
If it's yes, I know this university. The university is in the north west of Sydney. Since there is a large population of Chinese in Sydney, there are so many little Chinatown in different suburbs. Close to the Macquarie U, you can take buses to either Chatswood or Eastwood where you don't need to know English but Chinese:) From big Chinese restaurants to 大排挡style of food court, from Chinese grocery supermarket to Chinese bakery, from barbar shop to beauty saloon, etc. you can find anything available in these two little Chinatowns! I can say that, if I am right you are kind of 老广, you can keep your 老广life style here:)
You can bring in 电饭锅等家用电器, since they are esential items. However, you can buy them here. Local brand rice cooker may cost $30 Australia dollars (the quality might not be as good as the Japan Tiger brand but good enough to beat 美的). Forther more, you can buy the famous Chinese brands of whitegoods here.
For accomodation, I think your daughter can share a house or a apartment with other students. Recently the rental market is hot and the rent has increased a lot. The rent will be the second most expensive of the whole cost for your daughter (tuition fee is the most expensive for oversea students). Generally the accomodation can be found through the service agent run by university student union, or a lot of people just look for the apartment from the notice board inside the campus.
I don't know what else to tell you. Just let me know what you like to know more, I will try to answer them. |
